What’s up, gamers? If you’ve been waiting for some juicy Marvel Rivals updates, they’re finally here! A fresh developer video just dropped, revealing a ton of info about the highly anticipated season 1. It’s like opening a surprise package filled with goodies – you never know what you’re gonna get!
The video is packed with news including new battle pass skins and some character adjustments that might shake things up in the game. So grab your favorite snack, and let’s dig into what we can expect when the new season hits on January 10!
Battle Pass
- The hype starts with the battle pass! We got to see three legendary skins featured in the video, Loki, Wolverine, and Scarlet Witch, all decked out in vampire themes. How cool is that?
- This battle pass will have double the content compared to season zero’s version and will offer ten new skins in total. Can’t wait to see which other characters are getting a makeover!
- You can snag this pass for 990 lattice (which is about $10), but if you complete it all, you’ll earn back 600 lattice plus another 600 units. These passes don’t expire, although some chronotokens go bye-bye between seasons.
Nerfs and Buffs
- The leaks were right! Hela and Hawkeye are getting nerfed, while Wolverine and Storm will be buffed. Venom and Captain America are also getting boosts so they can “charge into battle” better. No exact details yet though, guess we’ll have to wait for those surprises.
- A nifty change to help players keep track of when Jeff is ready to chow down with his Ultimate was also teased. That’s something I need because I always fall victim to that move!
Season 1 Heroes and Maps
- This three-month jam-packed season will launch two heroes immediately: Mr. Fantastic and The Invisible Woman! Then about six weeks later, we’ll get The Human Torch and The Thing joining the fray.
- Mr. Fantastic and Human Torch are duelists. The Thing is a vanguard while Invisible Woman plays as a strategist; it sounds like each hero has their flavor ready for combat.
- Three brand-new maps will debut: Sanctum Sanctorum, Empire of Eternal Night Midtown, and Empire of Eternal Night Central Park. Plus there’s a new Arcade mode set in Sanctum, which honestly sounds epic!
Ranked Play
- If you’re into Ranked play like me, heads up! Everyone’s dropping seven divisions after reset, and yes, a wipe too.
- A shiny new Celestial rank will sit snugly between the Grandmaster and Eternity ranks.
- Marvel Rivals plans to share pick and win rates every half-season, which could hint at upcoming nerfs or buffs based on player performance.
Expect even more reveals throughout this week, focusing mainly on Mr. Fantastic’s moveset and Invisible Woman’s abilities. Given how little actual footage was shared in the developer video, though, I’m betting they’re saving some epic clips for later.
