Discord has begun rolling out an in-app commerce experience that integrates directly with Marvel Rivals, letting players browse, buy, wishlist, and gift digital items without leaving the Marvel Rivals Discord server. The feature launches as Marvel Rivals heads into anniversary and holiday activity, and it moves purchases straight into the game so bought or gifted items are available immediately in a player’s account.
Players can build a wishlist of items to share or receive as gifts and send purchases to friends who do not yet have the game, a capability Discord highlights as a way to drive new players and extend in-game currency reach. Discord notes that roughly 20% of shop purchases on its platform are gifts and that figure climbs to almost 30% over the holiday period. The company calls the change “a natural evolution of how people use Discord to connect and celebrate together.” Visit the Discord press release for full details.
At launch the integration supports payments in USD only on the Discord desktop client and is available to users in the US, Canada, Ireland, and Oceania. Additional regions and platform support will be considered as the feature expands. Developers and publishers can add other titles over time.
