The team behind Manor Lords has rolled out another round of updates for the open beta, just in time to smooth out some pesky bugs that have been annoying players. If you’ve been itching to try the latest features while dodging those frustrating glitches, now’s your chance!
If you’re curious about how to jump into the beta action, follow these steps:
- Open Steam
- Right-click on Manor Lords in your library
- Select Properties
- Go to the BETAS tab
- Enter the password: veryNiceBasket
- Choose “pre_release” from the “Beta participation” drop-down list
- Wait for the game to update (if nothing happens, restart your Steam client)
- Launch the game!
A quick heads up: as stated by Greg from the development team, all new strings might not be localized yet, and they haven’t fully tested stability just yet. Some balancing changes are still experimental, so expect a few quirks and all those fixes.
Patching Things Up: What’s New?
The recent transition from version 0.8.028 to 0.8.029 brings various minor tweaks and crucial bug fixes:
- Fixed some “holes” in Winding River landscape topology.
- Crashed no more:
– Fixed the vegetable extension crashing on a specific triangular plot shape. - Smooth sailing ahead:
– Fix attempt for some PCs loading coat of arms images as black if created in UE4 build. - A windmill’s life:
– Walked back change from 0.8.010 where windmills wouldn’t mill flour if there was no pantry space left—this led to them getting stuck when storage was full. - The veggie patch mystery:
– Fixed vegetable plots not spawning when extension area center line differed too much from plot area center line; this may cause irregular patches from previous saves to look invalid or lose plants. - No more lost resources:
– Addressed issue with construction resources sometimes differing after loading a save, which could lead to soft locking construction if players lacked resources.
If any of these issues struck a chord with you during gameplay, it looks like there’s light at the end of that bug tunnel! You can check out detailed discussions about these updates on their official Discord server here.
This update strikes me as a solid step toward refining gameplay experience while we wait for more content drops down the line—hopefully without any fresh hiccups popping up! As always, I’m curious about your thoughts on these changes or anything else related to Manor Lords. Have you stumbled upon any other significant bugs or features?
