Major Cheat Developer for Escape From Tarkov Shut Down by Chinese Police?

Escape From Tarkov has been plagued by cheaters in recent months, leading to frustration and complaints from its community. However, recent news suggests that one of the major cheat developers for the game has been shut down by Chinese police.

While it’s unclear if Battlestate Games, the developer of Escape From Tarkov, was directly involved in this action, it’s possible that they played a role in gathering information that led to the police intervention. According to reports from Tarkov streamer OnePeg, a prominent cheat developer based in China had its entire operation shut down, including server data confiscated by the police.

The cheat developer reportedly distributed retail cheats to resellers, and the shutdown is expected to significantly impact the number of cheaters in the game. However, it’s worth noting that cheat developers often find ways to adapt and continue their operations, so the long-term impact of this action remains to be seen.

The report, extended

OnePeg, a known Tarkov streamer, revealed this by posting two images of the cheat developer addressing his community on discord.

As Per OnePeg’s tweet, he said:

One of my sources (and I’m trying to confirm if this is ACTUALLY TRUE) claims that the largest cheat developer/source provider, who distributes retail cheats to resellers, just had its entire operation shut down by Chinese police. @bstategames might have gotten something done

One of the images hold the following text information:

  • Quick update for everyone. Due to the police blocking our server and arrest, the server data is completely lost. I do not know what this means at the moment so stay tuned for further updates.

The second image contains information on what seems to be a user writing in general about the raid and the potential difficulties of the cheat developer. You can see both of the images below:

From another source:

Lots of cheat providers are saying that the cheats "are fine" etc. but EVERYONE dming me is saying this same thing: pic.twitter.com/YBFdqHaHD0

The whole Escape From Tarkov community is already celebrating, but it’s unknown whether Battlestate Games is behind this. Either way, cheaters are expected to be less common now, at least, we hope.
