CI Games announced a surprise final update for Lords of the Fallen (2023) during Gamescom’s Opening Night Live, following the studio’s reveal. The 2023 reboot has received several post-launch overhauls since release. In April 2024 the studio issued the Master of Fate update, which had been promoted as the game’s final major patch. CI Games returned to the live game in April 2025 with a larger Lords of the Fallen 2.0 update that added a Friend Pass system for co-op, new co-op challenges, and multiplayer improvements.
CI Games described the new release as Lords of the Fallen 2.5. The studio said the update would add new difficulty and combat changes, fresh armor and animation work, and other quality-of-life tweaks to keep the original game active while the team shifts focus to the sequel.
As per the promised infromation, there are supposed to be things like
- Deadlier boss battles
- Smarter enemies
- Veteran of the Veil Armor Set
- New boss animations
- New Veteran Mode
Players who followed the game through the 2.0 changes should find the 2.5 additions push combat difficulty and enemy behavior further, while the new Veteran Mode offers an optional spike in challenge for replayers.
