Lords of the Fallen 2 developer says studio is not behind The Game Awards statue and is hoping for a FromSoftware reveal

CI Games’ CEO Marek Tyminski publicly denied that Lords of the Fallen 2 or its studio is responsible for the mysterious statue that has appeared near Los Angeles ahead of The Game Awards, and said the team is hopeful the installation will point to something from FromSoftware instead.

The statue tease has produced a wave of speculation online, and Geoff Keighley’s posts about the activation helped fuel fan sleuthing across the Mojave Desert. Console PC Gaming covered Keighley’s initial clue when it surfaced in early December, and that chatter is still driving theories about what will be revealed on December 11, 2025. Keighley’s clue was a major lightning rod for guesses. Tyminski pushed back on the Lords link in a short post on X and said the studio is “flattered” fans think they are behind the statue but confirmed they were not involved.

“Flattered so many think we’re behind that statue. Can confirm it’s not us, we’re just as hyped as you are. Devs are praying it’s something FromSoftware. Huge respect to them and we dream of reaching that level one day. Big news coming for both Lords of the Fallen and Lords 2. We’ve listened. Soon it’s time to reveal. Thanks for the insane love on the August trailer, now we’re ready to step it up again.”

Fans have proposed a range of candidates for the statue’s source, from the mysterious statue itself to major studio reveals. One high-profile theory has been a Diablo-related tease given overlapping clues appearing online, and Console PC Gaming has tracked those leads as they emerged. With Elden Ring: Nightreign already out, Tyminski’s message named FromSoftware as the studio he hopes is behind the activation rather than CI Games.

The post also referenced the studio’s plan to follow up on the August footage and suggested more formal announcements for the Lords games will arrive separately from whatever is tied to the statue. Fans will get another chance to see if the tease matches a major reveal when The Game Awards airs on December 11, 2025.
