League of Legends is going nuts with Patch 25.17, which brings a mix of new skins, champion adjustments, and a visual refresh for Xin Zhao. Riot Games is also adding the Doom Bots mode with the Veigar boss after a long wait. These changes aim to keep the game feeling fresh without flipping the meta upside down.

Updates drop every Wednesday, and this patch is expected on August 27, 2025. Release times should be around 3 pm CT for NA, 5 am GMT for EU West, 3 am CET for EU North East, and 8 am KR for Korea. The patch will hit PBE servers first before going live worldwide.

Patch 25.17 is launching season three with a new battle pass loaded with fresh cosmetics for champions like Jhin and Lulu. Xin Zhao’s long-awaited visual overhaul finally arrives, giving him a fresh look on the Rift. Alongside him, players will get to see new skins such as Elderwood Alistar, Visions of the Fallen Tryndamere, Visions of the Fallen Garen, and Prestige Visions of the Fallen Jarvan.

Oh, and after 11 years, the Doom Bots mode returns with the evil Veigar boss. Crazy, right? I wonder if this mode will finally get some love or be a wild ride of chaos as usual.

Champion buffs

  • Irelia
  • Kassadin
  • Kayn
  • Kog Maw
  • Miss Fortune
  • Morgana
  • Nilah
  • Senna
  • Sett
  • Vayne

Champion nerfs

  • Gwen
  • Master Yi
  • Rumble
  • Singed

System adjustments

  • Axiom Arc
  • Horizon Focus
  • Profane Hydra

Numbers for these system changes aren’t out yet, so we’ll update when they come through. I’m kinda curious how these tweaks will impact gameplay overall. Guess Riot wants to keep things balanced without throwing the meta into chaos.

What do you think about Xin Zhao’s new look? Are the buffs and nerfs fair?
