Avowed

Think again if you thought the Xbox Series X|S was coasting. 2025 will be quite the ride for gamers, with many exciting titles on the way whether you’re itching for a new adventure or want to blow off some steam after work, something that’ll catch your eye.

The following year promises more than rehashes and remasters; we’re getting fresh experiences that might make us reconsider our backlogs! So, let’s break down some of the biggest games coming to Xbox in 2025.

Xbox Exclusives Of 2025

Avowed

Avowed, from Obsidian Entertainment, is set to whisk players away into the high-fantasy realm of Eora—yep, that’s right; it’s from the same universe as Pillars of Eternity. Originally slated for an October release this year, it’s now making its debut on February 18, 2025. Why? Well, Microsoft wants it to breathe a bit before going head-to-head with Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

This isn’t just another fantasy RPG either; think Skyrim but with an added twist. You’ll have plenty of magical abilities at your disposal and guess what? If first-person view isn’t your jam, you can switch to third-person mode too! Plus, get ready for day one access through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

South of Midnight

Brought to life by Compulsion Games (the folks behind We Happy Few), South of Midnight takes us deep into Southern U.S. folklore. Here, you’ll step into Hazel’s shoes as she becomes a “Weaver,” a title bestowed upon those who mend broken spirits after calamity strikes her town.

No hard date yet, it’s penciled in for sometime in 2025, but I’m intrigued by how Hazel will tackle her family’s tangled past while battling nightmarish creatures lurking about!

Fable

The reboot everyone has been waiting for: Fable! After its announcement in ’20, fans have been holding their breath, and rightly so! This fourth main entry has seen nearly ten years since conception and promises whimsical mayhem.

You’ve got Richard Ayoade voicing a giant with an attitude problem toward heroes, what could go wrong? Rumors suggest it might hit shelves late in 2025 alongside day one availability on Game Pass Ultimate.

Multiplatform Titles Of 2025

Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 6

If there were ever any doubt about which game would top this list, it’s got to be GTA 6!. With nearly twelve years since last hitting shelves, anticipation is sky-high as Rockstar gears up for what many are saying could be the largest launch event ever witnessed in gaming history.

DOOM: The Dark Ages

An exciting spin-off called DOOM: The Dark Ages would take us back before DOOM (2016). As per id Software’s description, you’ll control DOOM Slayer fighting demonic forces that threaten kingdoms. That sounds epic already! Keep an ear out as more details roll out soon.

The Outer Worlds 2

An Obsidian favorite returns with The Outer Worlds 2! It was announced at E3 ‘21 but not shown much until recently when they dropped a new trailer at The Game Awards ‘24, confirming its arrival next year. Expect this sequel to be bigger than ever, with three times longer development time, promising double the size compared to its predecessor.

Borderlands 4

Six years later, after Borderlands’ last outing, comes Borderlands 4! Players can expect four new vault hunters, along with familiar faces returning from previous entries, while diving into uncharted territories within Pandora once again! Fans have already received teasers showcasing gameplay during The Game Awards – hold tight till we hear more about Gearbox’s plans moving forward!

I've spent half of my life playing video games, ever since the competitive 1.6 era. Now I am happily married to Margarita Kicevski, and have two beautiful children. My goal is to deliver fresh news and updates, but most of the time I want to work on guides. Since I have rebooted this website, I am planning on making it huge. Just you wait!
