Lies of P’s studio is now Nough as its unnamed sequel moves forward

Lies of P developer Round8 Studio has a new name: Nough. The studio introduced the change in a 16-minute documentary about its development culture, the original game, and the unnamed sequel currently in production.

The video’s description says Nough is continuing Round8 Studio’s development philosophy under the motto “Games by Gamers.” The name is also presented as a reference to “Not Enough.” However, the documentary does not clearly explain whether Nough is a full rebrand of Round8 or a separate studio connected to publisher Neowiz.

What is clear is that the team behind Lies of P is now working under the Nough name, while its next project remains without a public title or formal reveal. Combat director Lee Jeonghyeon described the team’s goal in direct terms: “From the very start, my goal has been to create the world’s greatest action game. And we’re getting there, one step at a time.”

Overall director Choi Jiwon said the studio wants to make a game its developers would want to play themselves. He also stressed that players can recognize when a project was made with genuine care. Choi ended the documentary by asking fans to wait a little longer and trust the team’s process.

Nough’s playtest routine shaped Lies of P

A large part of the documentary focuses on how Nough tests its games. At major milestones, Choi streams a playtest of the current build to the entire company so the team can see how the project is coming together.

The studio also holds periodic “Game Day” sessions. Everyone sets aside their usual work, plays as much of the current build as possible, and then completes a survey about the experience. According to the documentary, that feedback helped produce the difficulty modes in Lies of P and led to major cuts and a story change in the Lies of P: Overture expansion.

That same process is still being used for the sequel, although Nough has not shared its name, release timing, or platforms. For now, the studio is asking fans to wait while it works toward the larger follow-up it has described.
