League Classic’s First Community Poll Will Put Items, Timers, and More to a Vote

The 7-day poll runs from August 26 through September 2, and Riot will publish the results in Patch Notes after voting closes.

League Classic players will have a say in several upcoming decisions through the game’s first community poll, including which retired items could return, how jungle timers should work, and whether base gates should remain. The 7-day vote runs from August 26 through September 2.

Players can access the poll through the “The Council” tab in the League client. Eligible players may answer each question, skip anything they do not have an opinion on, and change their answers before voting closes. Riot Games outlines the voting system in its The Council developer post.

Each point of voting power counts as one vote on every question. Once the poll closes, Riot will publish the results in Patch Notes.

Game length and item revivals

The opening questions focus on how League Classic currently feels in play. Players can rate the overall length of matches from way too short to way too long, then choose the point at which a match becomes too long: 30, 40, 50, or 60 minutes, or with no preferred maximum.

Riot is also asking which older items should return to Classic. The choices are Zz’Rot Portal, Cloak and Dagger, Moonflair Spellblade, all 3 items, or none. Each item that receives more than 50% support will be added, including the separate “All 3” option.

Jungle timers and base gates

One question asks whether Classic should add jungle timers. Players can choose modern timers that stay visible on the minimap, timers that appear only while the scoreboard is open, or no change to the current minimap. If the 2 yes options receive more than 50% combined support, the more popular of those 2 choices will win.

Base gates are another yes-or-no decision. Riot introduced them at the start of Season 5 to give defending teams another way to protect their base without depending on more extreme comeback mechanics. The poll asks whether they should stay in the game.

Snowballing, ward trinkets, and river critters

Players can also rate how snowball-heavy matches feel, with answers ranging from significantly too snowbally to not snowbally enough. A separate question asks whether ward trinkets improve Classic gameplay, with simple options for liking or disliking them.

Finally, Riot plans to add 2 critters to the river, with 1 placed at the top and 1 at the bottom. The poll asks players to choose the pairing, with 4 combinations available: Turtle, Turtle; Turtle, Duck; Duck, Turtle; or Duck, Duck.
