Tripwire Interactive has pushed out the first hotfix for Killing Floor 3. While not a massive overhaul, it tackles a bunch of bugs that were dragging down the shooter’s smoothness. Console and PC players will get a small download to patch up stability and gameplay quirks.

Hotfix 1 dropped on August 6 and is available across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S platforms. If you’ve been running into crashes, voice chat troubles, or weird weapon issues, this patch might help clear things up.

Killing Floor 3 Hotfix 1 Released on Aug. 6

  • Stability Issues
    • Improved stability for dedicated servers and clients in various situations.
    • Fixed a problem where Epic Games Store users couldn’t load into the game due to an EOS error.
  • VOIP:
    • Fixed voice chat problems in multiplayer, especially those caused by privacy setting changes and late joins.
  • Gameplay & UI:
    • Removed delay between command wheel actions and specialist dialog lines.
    • Fixed late-joining players spawning with the wrong starter weapon regardless of their chosen loadout or budget.
    • Corrected mismatches between tool stock values and actual charges at the trader.
    • Fixed issues where changes to tools in the Ready Up lobby didn’t apply for late joiners.
    • Made the Message of the Day Banner visible again on the Start Menu.
    • Fixed the Desktop Icon for Epic Games Store owners.
    • Added more UI feedback after weapon mod crafting completes.
  • Visuals:
    • Fixed shadows incorrectly appearing around Zed limbs and gore pieces.

Tripwire also shared a short list of things they’re still working on, including overall performance and stability improvements, fixes for matchmaking issues like infinite matchmaking loops, and problems with players loading into broken VTOL lobbies.

  • Player inputs sometimes not registering properly on rebound and non-rebound keys.
  • Incorrect ammo consumption from reserves during matches.
  • Late joiners seeing inactive, sound-making, headless Zeds.
  • Server issues causing stuttering movement and unresponsiveness in online play.

Most of these fixes are planned for next week’s update. No exact release date yet, but when it hits, you’ll find the details here.
