KIBORG, the fast-paced roguelike action game from developer Sobaka Studio, is officially launching on April 30. Players can look forward to experiencing this distinct title on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The game will be available via Steam for $29.99, with pre-orders currently open for Xbox players through the Microsoft Store.
Dmitry Kachkov, head of Sobaka Studio, expressed relief over announcing the launch date after years of development and adjusting to feedback received from their previous project, KIBORG: Arena. He stated, “Can you make it out of The Last Ticket alive?” which sets an engaging tone for the game’s narrative.
The story follows Morgan Lee, a character wrongfully accused of war crimes and sentenced to a staggering 1,300 years on a notorious prison planet. In this grim setting where death is not an escape due to relentless revivals by his captors, he must conquer Cable Galactica’s infamous game show “The Last Ticket” in search of freedom.
Players start with basic melee attacks but can evolve their combat style by acquiring ranged weapons, from simple pistols to futuristic firearms. Combat mechanics include dodging enemy strikes or blocking them with precision timing while effectively managing energy levels.
Morgan benefits from cybernetic enhancements that amplify his melee abilities, enabling bone-crushing combos and allowing him access to formidable weaponry like giant sledgehammers. The grotesque host Volkov adds another layer of complexity as he rewards entertainment value during each combat run.
The process becomes strategic; currency earned from each attempt can be used for permanent upgrades that assist Morgan in escaping this hellish prison no matter what it may cost him.
