Khezu Will Join Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance
Capcom revealed the returning monster during a stage event at its Tokyo Game Show 2026 booth and confirmed Ascendance will require the base game and the 7★ assignment Awaking From a Dream.
Khezu will join Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, giving Capcom’s upcoming expansion another familiar monster from the wider series. The reveal took place during a stage event at Capcom’s booth at Tokyo Game Show 2026, as detailed in the developer’s Steam announcement.
Capcom described Khezu’s arrival as an electrifying entrance, but the announcement kept the focus on confirming the monster’s appearance. Its addition gives hunters another returning threat to look forward to alongside the expansion’s previously revealed monsters.
Khezu joins Ascendance’s expanding roster
Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance will take place several years after the base game’s story and will introduce the Skybound Eyrie, the Madoi Stronghold, Lao-Shan Lung, Gundoraja, Araketa, and the Boost Bracer. The first Ascendance trailer provided the earlier look at those story, world, and combat additions.
Khezu’s return adds a recognizable series monster to that mix without changing the expansion’s broader setup. Capcom has not announced a specific release date, but Ascendance is scheduled to arrive in 2027.
Requirements for Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance
Hunters will need the Monster Hunter Wilds base game and must complete the 7★ assignment Awaking From a Dream before accessing the expansion. Capcom has posted those requirements on the official Ascendance website.
