Josh Deane’s reaction to a fan preservation demo has stirred talk of a Destiny PC port or remaster, but the footage is not an announcement from Bungie. The original 2014 shooter launched on PlayStation and Xbox, and its sequel later brought the franchise to PC. Destiny itself has never received an official PC release.
Deane, Bungie’s head of product and Marathon general manager, reacted to the circulating clip on X with, “Seems like a pretty game, wonder if it will do well…”

YouTube creator Flummoxed’s demonstration shows the original game running on PC at 4K, 60-plus FPS, and a 105-degree field of view. It is a fan project, not a Bungie-developed PC version.
The preservation project uses the shadPS4 emulator and aims to keep a game dependent on retired online services playable by building a server that answers requests from the game client. Its repository contains original code and clean-room protocol documentation, but no game, patch, or firmware assets are included or redistributed. It is not a ready-to-distribute copy of Destiny.
The project is separate from Bungie’s plan to restore vaulted Destiny 2 content. That work concerns campaigns, destinations, and raids for Destiny 2, with updates to lighting, encounters, combatants, and other systems needed before older content returns.
