This Week: New Selection of Curtains
This week’s addition includes six new sets of curtains—one crafted from fur (Tier 2) along with two options made from platinum weave (Elegant and Reinforced, Tier 3). The base design has become a staple within ICARUS, with players frequently requesting decorative options for their window fittings. Each design is available for both windows and doors, allowing customization across different entrances or rooms as per individual taste.
This Week: More Improvements to Shadows
The previous update laid the groundwork for major changes to how shadows are rendered from various Deployables. In this round, several known issues have been addressed based on community feedback. major strides have been made in rendering shadows from Skeletal Meshes like Storage Cupboards. Thin meshes now exhibit better light interactions without unwanted shadowing artifacts:
No longer will thin objects suffer from mismanaged lighting; they are working much more effectively now:
A nifty trick was implemented where door shadow meshes rotate alongside their corresponding Skeletal Meshes:
Your feedback has been invaluable throughout these updates; thank you for your continued contributions!
Coming Soon: Great Hunts – Legendary Weapons
A few weeks back, we previewed some Legendary Weapons will launch with Icarus: Great Hunts. This week sheds light on three additional weapons associated with specific bosses within this paid expansion. Defeating these foes will yield Biomass currency distinct to each adversary:
- Rimetusk Biomass
- Garganutan Biomass
- Quarrite Biomass
The aforementioned currencies will allow players not only to purchase their respective weapons but also customize them further through attachments that suit personal playstyles.
- ‘Frostbreaker’ Rimetusk Sledgehammer:
The Frostbreaker is a prototype sledgehammer created using materials derived from the legendary Rimetusk Ice Mammoth. It serves as both a lethal weapon and utility tool able of repairs or mining ores. Attachments like ‘Fracturing Skull’ allow you to break apart larger ore blocks while ‘Chilling Femur’ grants an ability similar to that used by Rimetusk against you—spawning Ice Spires upon impact. The Rimetusk expansion also introduces recipes for an Armor Set, Spear, Shield, Trap modules, trophies, and Frozen Wool.
- ‘Slate Smasher’ Quarrite Gauntlet:
This gauntlet marks Norex’s first steps into Exo-skeleton technology aimed at close-quarter efficacy while providing ranged attack capabilities depending on player customization choices. Charging it up after striking rocks allows one to unleash devastating bursts during combat thanks to novel energy mechanics developed around Quarrite material sciences. An attachment option called ‘Cannon Fist’ turns it into a ranged weapon if maintaining distance during encounters is preferred.
- ‘Behemoth’ Garganutan Club:
The Behemoth draws inspiration from Garganutan’s agility combined with power-centric technology upgrades found through experimentation methods employed during development phases surrounding this colossal creature type. Enhancements focus on stamina boosts alongside distinct perks like ‘Primal Blood,’ which increases carry capacity while mitigating the burdens associated when over-encumbered; ‘Vampiric Blood’ allows health leeching effects upon hitting targets!
The Garganutan expansion also adds recipes for an Armor Set along with Grenades,Tonics,Crafting Modules, and Trophies.
