ICARUS has pushed Hotfix 2.3.17.144813 -rel-GreatHunts on Steam to address a few frustrating creature talent tree bugs that were affecting tamed animals. The update is narrowly focused and aims to put talent points and passive stats back where players expect them.
For anyone who has been muddling through broken talent screens, the changes are practical and specific. The fixes target the Forest Wolves and the Tamed Cat. Those two species were acting up in different ways and the hotfix addresses each problem separately.
Patch Notes – ICARUS – Hotfix 2.3.17.144813 -rel-GreatHunts
- Fixing Forest Wolves so their Talent Tree archetype is now setup correctly again, allows people to view and assign points.
- Fixing Forest Wolves Talents and Stats so they apply to the Tamed Creature as Intended
- Fixing Tamed Cat Talents and Stats so they no longer have the entire wolf talent tree in addition to their own.
These are quality of life and correctness fixes rather than balance changes. Players who tamed Forest Wolves should now be able to open the talent tree and actually spend points. Owners of Tamed Cats will no longer see an accidental copy of the wolf talent tree added to the cat’s abilities.
Follow up testing will be useful since talent and stat systems can affect gameplay in subtle ways. If problems persist after the hotfix, restarting the game and reloading saves is a sensible troubleshooting step.
