Hytale launched into early access on January 13, 2026 and immediately became the most watched game on Twitch, tons of viewers across thousands of streams.
The studio behind Hytale, Hypixel, has said pre-purchases have already covered roughly two years of early access development costs. We have reported that Hypixel founder Simon Collins-Laflamme expects over one million players on day one, a figure he posted to X ahead of launch.
Streamers and viewers tuned in in huge numbers. A quick check of Google Trends shows a major spike in global search interest for Hytale over the last 24 hours, mirroring what Twitch numbers reveal.
Hypixel developers are collecting player feedback and preparing an initial hotfix to address several crash bugs. Some players also reported waiting on account verification emails, a likely result of unusually high demand on Hypixel’s infrastructure. The studio’s developer account has been posting updates on X as teams triage issues.
Pre-Release Patchline Update:
If you were affected by one of the following crashes, please check out the pre-release patchline and give me some quick feedback, so we have some extra certainty before pushing our first hotfix ever 😮– [Crash] Norwegian Windows

Anecdotal reports from launch streams show many new players meeting the game’s wildlife early and often. Those early run-ins appear to match staff reports of a rough first hour for new characters as servers and systems stabilize.
