The latest update for Hunt: Showdown, 1.16.2, has just dropped, and it’s packed with new content and crucial balance changes that are bound to shake up the Bayou. This will be the final content update before August 15th, so let’s see what’s new in this 1.4GB patch.
First off, we have the introduction of the Throwing Spear. This two-handed melee tool is designed for precision throws and can be retrieved and reused, just like Throwing Knives and Throwing Axes. You start with one spear by default, but you can carry two if you have the Frontiersman trait. The spears are also visible in Dark Sight with Blade Seer, making them easier to locate after a throw. This tool unlocks at Bloodline Rank 33 and costs 65 Hunt Dollars. The developers emphasize its high damage and speed, though you’ll need to aim carefully to make your throws count.
