Funcom’s Dune Awakening will receive a major Chapter 3 update in early 2026 that remakes endgame systems and retools combat across the board. The free Chapter 3 update arrives alongside a paid Raiders of the Land DLC that is included for Season Pass holders and priced at $9.99 for others.
The headline change is a rebuilt Landsraad. The weekly political system has been reconstructed to move away from repetitive fetch-style missions and to reward both groups and solo players. Players will now pick a specialization – Combat, Crafting, Exploring, Gathering, or Sabotage – and earn progression that feeds faction ranks and Landsraad influence.
Chapter 3 also adds five new challenge locations that advance faction progress and specialization XP, plus five Testing Stations with bosses. An Augment Station lets players upgrade tier 6 gear to higher power, and several new weapons are arriving, including dual-wield knives, the Pyrocket, and a Rapier rework. The update continues the game’s story from Chapter 2 and includes new narrative content centered on the Neo Carthog dueling ring.
The Raiders of the Land DLC adds 73 new building components and 17 decoration pieces inspired by smugglers in the Imperium. Funcom confirmed the DLC is included for Season Pass owners and is available separately for $9.99; the base game is currently 35% off in the Steam Winter Sale on the game’s store page. Players worried about base safety should note Funcom has been rolling out tools to protect player structures; coverage of the planned base backup tool and other support features is available here.
Chapter 3 aims to change how late-game progression feels and gives players new paths to level up their characters and gear ahead of the update’s launch early next year.
