Every Pal in Palworld can have up to four passive skills, and those abilities can change how well it fights, works, or travels. Since most passives are assigned at random when a Pal is caught, building the perfect companion usually takes patience.
Thankfully, you do not have to keep catching the same Pal forever. Once you reach level 38, the Pal Surgery Table lets you replace unwanted passives with the help of special Implants.
How to Build the Pal Surgery Table
The Pal Surgery Table requires these materials:
- 30x Refined Ingot
- 20x High Quality Cloth
- 10x Corrosive Solvent
After building the station, place the Pal you want to modify into the table menu. You can use a Pal Reverser to change its gender, which can help when you need another breeding partner. The table’s more important function is replacing passive skills.
A Pal can keep four passives, but the table still lets you select one of them and overwrite it. You then choose an Implant for the replacement ability. For example, Ferocious raises attack by 20%, while Artisan increases Work Speed by 50%. That makes the first option a better fit for a combat Pal and the second more useful for base work.
How to Get Key Item Implants
There are two Implant categories. Key Item Implants can be reused, although each use costs gold, and they provide a broad selection of gold-quality passives.
You can buy the following Key Item Implants from the Arena with Arena Tickets:
- Serenity
- Infinite Stamina
- Runner
- Ace Swimmer
- Noble
- Healing Coach
- Roload Master
Bounty Officers offer another group of Key Item Implants in exchange for Bounty Tokens:
- Musclehead
- Burly Body
- Artisan
- Vanguard
- Stronghold Strategist
- Motivational Leader
- Wellness Watcher
How to Find Disposable Implants
Disposable Implants provide access to stronger passives, but each one disappears after a single use. Unlike Key Item Implants, they do not require gold when applied.
The rarest passives have a shining-blue quality. Some can only come from the World Tree or through Mutation. To search for them, collect relics by defeating or catching Pals in the World Tree, then process those relics with the Relic Recycler.
The Recycler can produce rare Disposable Implants, including those for Demon God, Diamond Body, and Immortality. Once you have the Implant you want, return to the Pal Surgery Table, select the passive to replace, and confirm the new ability.
This system offers a more direct way to improve a Pal than repeatedly breeding or training a perfect Yakumo. It also gives combat-focused Pals a better chance in Hard Mode Towers and the Arena, while work-focused Pals can receive abilities that improve their base performance.
