How to Obtain the New Land Beyond Exotic Sniper in Destiny 2

Get the New Land Beyond exotic sniper now by pre-ordering Destiny 2's Year of Prophecy Ultimate Edition.

If you’re eager to add the New Land Beyond exotic sniper rifle to your Destiny 2 arsenal, there’s a catch: you’ll need to open your wallet. The only way to get this weapon is by pre-ordering the Year of Prophecy Ultimate Edition, which grants immediate access to the new exotic. There are no freebies just yet, though the weapon will likely become available in-game later on.

Bungie recently revealed this bolt-action exotic during their Edge of Fate stream, alongside announcements for four upcoming expansions. One of these expansions is notably inspired by Star Wars, complete with pre-order bonuses featuring Darth Vader, Kylo Ren, and General Grievous skins. If you’re curious about how to get your hands on New Land Beyond right now, here’s the lowdown.

How to get New Land Beyond in Destiny 2

To acquire New Land Beyond, you must pre-order the Year of Prophecy Ultimate Edition, the highest tier for Destiny 2’s upcoming year of content. This approach mirrors previous pre-order exotics like Quicksilver Storm and Tessellation, which were initially exclusive to paid editions.

The silver lining is that, based on past patterns, New Land Beyond will probably become available for free in-game eventually. Most likely, you’ll be able to purchase it from the Monument to Lost Lights exotic archive in the Tower, just like with previous pre-order exotics.

Purchasing the Ultimate Edition also grants access to all Year of Prophecy content, including the Renegades expansion, battle passes, the Star Wars-themed outfits, an exotic sparrow, an emote, and an exotic catalyst and ornament—presumably for New Land Beyond.

After pre-ordering, don’t forget to claim New Land Beyond in-game. While pre-order bonuses usually appear at the Special Deliveries Terminal near Banshee-44, your vault claims this exotic from the Exotic Archive under the Edge of Fate exotics section. It’s worth checking both spots to be safe.

Destiny 2 New Land Beyond weapon perks

Wondering what makes New Land Beyond stand out? Here’s the intrinsic trait:

  • The Master: Scoring precision hits increases this weapon’s damage until the wielder’s defeat. Massively increases ammo reserves.

Its weapon perks include:

  • Horizon Ironsights: Increases range, slightly increases handling speed.
  • Accurized Rounds: Increases range.
  • Bullseye Bolster: Landing a precision hit substantially increases this weapon’s target acquisition, handling, reload speed, and stability for a short duration.
  • Snapshot Sights: Faster time to aim down sights.
  • Short Action Stock: Greatly increases handling speed.

New Land Beyond is a solid choice for players who enjoy precision sniping with perks that boost damage and handling after landing critical shots.

What do you think about Bungie locking this exotic behind a pre-order? Will you be grabbing the Year of Prophecy Ultimate Edition, or waiting for the weapon to become available in-game? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
