How to fix weapons and armor in Hytale

Hytale players can repair broken tools, weapons, and armor by crafting Repair Kits at a Tier 1 or higher Workbench. Hytale entered early access on January 13, 2026, and that build uses Repair Kits rather than a simple bench-based repair system for most items; the game’s early access launch is covered in Console & PC Gaming’s report on player expectations entered early access on January 13, 2026.

Where to craft Repair Kits

Repair Kits are made at the Tier 1 Workbench or above. Open the workbench and pick the second tab in the upper left corner. The pickaxe icon at the top of that tab leads to the Repair Kit recipe. After crafting, place a Repair Kit on the hotbar and use the repair menu that appears to pick which item to fix.

Materials needed for a Repair Kit

Each Repair Kit requires:

  • (2) Linen scraps
  • (1) Iron ingot
  • (1) Light leather

Where to find the materials

  • Linen scraps drop from early Zone 1 enemies. Good sources include Skeleton Fighters roaming surface fields, Goblin Scrappers found underground, and Trork encountered in their villages.
  • Iron ingots are refined at a Tier 1 Furnace from iron ore and fuel. For details on where to find ore and how to smelt it, see the guide to iron ore locations.
  • Light leather comes from light hide harvested from small animals such as rabbits, pigs, and rats. Build a Tier 1 Drying Rack to turn hides into light leather.

Using Repair Kits

Equip a Repair Kit on the hotbar, open the repair interface, and select the item to mend. Players should use kits selectively since materials add up and the game does not let you freely repair everything at a bench without crafting kits first. Avoid repairing items at high durability to conserve resources.

This method covers most tools, weapons, and basic armor pieces in early access. If item behavior changes in future updates, check developer notes for adjustments.
