Marathon is Bungie’s new multiplayer extraction shooter and it will release in Australia on March 6, 2026. Pre-orders are available now and pre-purchase buyers receive a selection of cosmetics and in-game bonuses.
The game will not have a physical edition in Australia. Bungie is shipping Marathon to PlayStation 5, Steam for PC, and Xbox Series X|S, with the March 6 date confirmed in prior coverage noting the March 6 launch.
What pre-purchase bonuses ship with Marathon
Buying Marathon ahead of launch grants cosmetic items such as weapon charms, stickers, and emblems. The Deluxe edition bundles additional cosmetics plus Rewards Pass currency and a voucher.
The Deluxe edition contents include the following items:

- 200 SILK Rewards Pass Tokens

Those extras are primarily cosmetic and include a Premium Rewards Pass Voucher plus 200 SILK tokens for the Rewards Pass system. Prices and retailer offers may change in the coming weeks. There are reportedly better places to buy Marathon than purchasing directly from Steam, so shoppers in Australia should compare digital storefronts before completing a purchase.

A PvP-focused extraction shooter set on the mysterious planet of Tau Ceti IV, Marathon will see players inhabit the bodies of Runners, cybernetic mercenaries who have been designed to survive the planet’s harsh environments and explore the lost colony that once inhabited Tau Ceti’s surface. Players will engage solo or in crews of three, searching for mysterious alien artifacts, as well as for valuable loot and new weapons and gear that they can add to their collection.
