The guide outlines how to defeat Sister Splinter in Hollow Knight Silksong, developed by Team Cherry, explaining safe windows, movement, and when to punish so the ceiling-heavy fight becomes manageable.
Sister Splinter is one of the early Silksong bosses found in the area known as Shellwood in Pharloom. The arena sits on the route to the Wall Jump location, so defeating her also clears that path; players who need the room can consult the Hollow Knight Silksong map to find the chamber.
Short jump, upward strike. The core of the fight is simple: stay low and use a short hop into an upward stab to score most damage without touching the ceiling. Upward hits are effective when Sister Splinter briefly drops during her claw combo or when a spawned spike is stunned on the floor.
After emerging from the vines, Sister Splinter follows with a three-hit claw combo that tracks the player. Focus on evasion during this window while looking for the brief stun opportunity to punish heavily. The basic left-right-left chain tracks movement and will push small players into spikes if space is cramped, so clear or manage the thorn walls carefully before committing to big attacks.
When spikes slam down from the ceiling, hit them a few times to remove them; they will spawn more frequently as the fight progresses. Once Sister Splinter is stunned by damage, she falls to the ground; that is the main window for heavier combos and silk-powered moves. After she retreats and summons flying minions, prioritize those targets so they don’t block movement or chip away health while the boss presses the ceiling.
Do not clear every thorn wall. Break just enough to create dodge room; destroying them all wastes time that could be spent on damage. Upgrading the Needle helps. For a more detailed video guide, watch the video below, courtesy of Kibbles Gaming.
