Hollow Knight Silksong patch 4 has landed in the public beta branch on Steam as update 1.0.28954. It’s the developer’s second small update this week; we covered the earlier fixes in patch 1.0.28650 on our site, and you can read that roundup for more context here. One of the clearest changes is a community-requested buff to the Multibinder tool. The Multibinder now clears Muckmaggots on its first stage and corrects an “unintentionally long bind time” when used with the Shaman crest.
The patch also fixes a handful of odd behaviors: Hornet could lose her “plasmified” state in some situations, such as Bellway travel, and Styx sometimes failed to hand out rosaries when receiving the Queen’s Egg. Controller support has been touched too. After adding DualSense Edge and Mac controller support earlier, Team Cherry says it’s moved to Unity’s input system to recognise more devices and improve pad performance.
The update ships a new Simplified Chinese script as a first pass, following the wave of negative launch reviews that criticized the original localization. Team Cherry describes this version as “a basic implementation only, to be refined and updated based on player feedback,” and early forum responses suggest more polishing will be needed.
