HITMAN: World of Assassination has reached an impressive milestone with 75 million players worldwide. In less than ten years, this game has successfully written its name as the most successful entry in the series. Last December one million active players donned their suits and ties to take on missions across various maps and modes. And if you’re feeling nostalgic or just curious, December 12 saw Jean-Claude Van Damme enter the fray as a new elusive target.
HITMAN: World of Assassination is not just another title; it’s part of an enduring legacy that began back in 2000 with Hitman: Codename 47. Over these two decades, this franchise has seamlessly transitioned through gaming generations, popping up on everything from mobile devices to VR headsets.
The folks over at IO Interactive recently shared some insights:
“Since its release, HITMAN World of Assassination has continued to introduce a vast array of live content, including new locations, contracts, seasonal events, and collaborations, expanding HITMAN’s narrative.”
“With 1 million active players in December 2024, HITMAN World of Assassination remains as popular as ever thanks to its constant additions and a dedicated community. With more content planned to come to HITMAN World of Assassination in 2025, players can continue to look forward to more and more hours of HITMAN to enjoy.”
If you’ve tried to take down Van Damme’s character yet then good luck to that. Only about 40% of players managed that feat during his mission. One brave soul even took seven hours to pull it off! Now that’s dedication (or maybe they just really enjoyed being chased by JCVD).
You can find HITMAN: World of Assassination available across several platforms, including PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One/Xbox Series X|S, PC, and even Nintendo Switch.
