This is an open message to all the hatchlings in Escape From Tarkov. How do you feel? Are those red key cards worth running for? Well, for those that do not know, Battlestate Games have made them Russian sneaky scavengers run for guys that enter naked. By naked, I mean hatchlings.
The ones that are seemingly trying to connect end to end and get richer are going to have a colossal roadblock from now on. A couple of hours ago, the developers decided to activate the “Tagged and Cursed” feature to all the scavs.
What is Tagged and Cursed in Escape From Tarkov?
Tagged and Cursed was usually defined for offline games, in which players can add a different amount of AI in order to practice. It is an option that will make all of the scavs rush towards the player, no matter his positioning on the map.
With that said, AI Scavs will now try to tackle anyone who has entered a raid without any equipped weapon. This is done to prevent hatchet runners from snatching valuable items from maps such as Shoreline (Resort), Labs (Red Room), and other maps that spawn valuable items. The most expensive at the moment, understandably, the Lab Red Keycard, which price to purchase is extremely high for newcomers.
This is Battlestate Games’ periodical change, which they tend to monitor in the coming future. To soak today’s changes better, we have tried to join multiple maps as hatchlings. It made us laugh as the hungry scavs were instantly rushing towards us.
Unless players find a way to abuse this change, this would probably be the best tackle against hatchlings. But, we’ll have to wait for a bit longer and see what comes out.
You can just wear a sling (2k roubles) and you prevent the cursed tag. That’s virtually nothing.
imagine being a group of players, who want loot the easy way. you and your friends join up, one takes in no gear and someone else takes gear in for him. this one guy is now tagged and cursed, which will probably not lift as it´s a setting and we know settings cant change once in a raid. this group of geared players will now get all the scav kills, all the lab entry cards and keys. making it one of the better ways to farm lab entry cards, which can then be used to farm labs with the same tactic. which seems kinda counter productive tbh
Devs shouldn’t punish players for how they like to play the game, and certainly not in an unrealistic and unfair way. Scavs should not just lock onto a hatchling if they don’t have line of sight and/or are at too far away, that’s ridiculous. Loot should be fully or semi randomized to avoid people getting to a specific item first. If I want an item that I know is in very limited supply and can be found at a specific spot on the map, going in with minimal gear to be faster (Tarkov’s weight system.) so I can nab that thing I want before it gets taken is a valid strategy. The problem is not hatchlings, the problem is the way loot spawns in. How do hatchlings feel? They should feel that they are being targeted and punished unfairly for just playing the game their way.
Yes but the majority of players disagree on hatchling’s freedom, and honestly, I also believe they need to be penalized to some extent, so they don’t snatch the goodies faster than everyone else :(.
Who cares if that’s what you claim the majority wants? It’s just a claim.
Still, this game is built on collective opinions such as player and streamer feedback, and for that reason, BSG is more likely to adopt the feedback rather than ignoring it.
You’re right. Players that want to play the game as intended shouldn’t be punished by valuable objects unrealistically and unfairly teleporting from a hatchling’s hand straight to their stash with no way to recover them 🙂
I feel like it’s unfair and unrealistic. If Tarkov was real there would be people going in with no weapons scavenging for loot. Hatchlings are also at a big disadvantage without any armor or weapons and can be easily one tapped by anybody they run into so what’s the big deal? I hardly ever even see hatchlings and I myself never really even did hatchling runs. I’ve always loved running into hatchlings and seeing them wiggle, now anytime I see run into someone it’s death on sight if I don’t kill him first ;(
Being a hatchling means carrying an axe and your secure container in a raid. So, if you die, you still keep the things that you get. And you can disconnect and everything will still be there.
What BSG should do, is remove the items from hatchling runners’ secure containers who disconnect, or runners who aren’t killed by PMCs.
Hey Trese, those who disconnect lose everything in their container. Those who die do not lose a thing. This has been changed since the last wipe.
No it hasn’t, I have disconnected once in the latest patch, and you still get the items in the container. The reason I have done that – to get the items required for bitcoin farm. I don’t play to disconnect. I play like a zero to hero style.
The term hatchlings is in the code of the game such as why is there still melee weapons?(many varieties) Why is there a skill to increase your melee strike power? Also, people don’t have that much money in their stash…
This wipe, people have too much money in their stash :D. The economy doesn’t even make sense at this moment.
It’s one of my favorite features so far, makes pistol runs on factory so much better. Me and my friend always queue up so we get tagged and cursed than wait for the amazon drone to deliver our gear for the raid.
