Arrowhead said a Helldivers 2 hot fix was being worked on, with more details due next week, but the studio used this community update to put the spotlight on something a lot more uplifting: the players behind HEROES 2026.
The focus was the Freedom Alliance, which Arrowhead described as the largest independent Helldivers 2 community, with more than 50,000 active members spread across Discord and its website. The group wrapped up its annual fundraiser for Save the Children on June 28, and the event graphic showed $270,173 raised over six days, across 61 countries, from 4,541 donations.
The campaign also connects back to a Major Order from two years ago, when Helldivers chose to save children at Super Citizen Anne’s hospital on Vernen Wells instead of taking the MD-17 Anti-Tank Mine stratagem for a third time. That decision became the foundation for HEROES, and Freedom Alliance turned it into a yearly charity event.
This year’s effort added a Streamathon on top of the auction work, with Commissar Kai and other core community members helping the push along. Arrowhead said the Streamathon helped raise more money than the 2025 edition, though it did not publish an exact year-over-year total in the post.
Arrowhead also pointed readers to the stream recap, which rounds up the community effort and the fundraiser’s final result. It is another one of those Helldivers moments where the joke, the lore, and the good deed all land at once.
