Halo Studios will share more about its future projects at the Halo World Championship (HWC) event scheduled for October 24 in Seattle. This event is especially notable, as it marks the beginning of the franchise’s 25th anniversary next year.
Last year, the developer formerly known as 343 Industries revealed its rebranding to Halo Studios and revealed it was working on multiple Halo titles using Unreal Engine 5. Attendees received a sneak peek at Halo-themed Unreal Engine environments, although the studio made it clear that the footage was a tech showcase rather than actual gameplay.
In a recent blog post, Halo Studios encouraged fans to attend this year’s HWC, teasing that more details about their projects will be shared. The studio acknowledged the ongoing speculation about their work. It said, “if you want the official scoop on what Halo Studios has been working on, you won’t want to miss this year’s Halo World Championship.” It sounds like they’re ready to continue the conversation started with last year’s “A New Dawn” presentation, which covered their Unreal Engine switch and Project Foundry.
The switch to Unreal Engine is a significant development for the team, as it aims to address some of the challenges faced during the development of Halo Infinite. That title experienced a year-long delay and a slow rollout of post-launch content, which the studio aims to avoid in the future.
So, what might Halo Studios have in store? It’s hard to say, but if you’re at all curious about the franchise’s next chapter, this October’s event sounds like the place to be. Will there be new gameplay footage? Announcements? Only time will tell, but the conversation is gaining momentum.
Will you be tuning in or attending the event? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below. It’s always fun to guess what surprises might be coming!
