Amnesia: Rebirth is the direct sequel to the original horror game Amnesia: The Dark Descent, and it’ll arrive on October 20 on PC and PS4, just in time for Halloween! The game will be available on Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store for PC.
Amnesia: Rebirth takes us to the Algerian desert, where Tasi Trianon’s plane has crashed. Now, Tasi needs to find ways to survive, but she’ll have to endure different types of horror on the way. Only armed with a lantern and some matches, she’ll look for answers through mysterious and secret locations.
Frictional Games also stated that this game would scare you in other ways, rather than just jumpscares. A trailer was released today in which we can see a bit of gameplay, and it already looks great, but most importantly, terrifying, judging by the nature of their previous games.
Thomas Grip, Frictional Games creative director, stated:
We aim to go beyond simple jump-scares and to affect players on a deeper level. While Rebirth will contain the terrifying encounters and sights you expect from an Amnesia game, it has a lot more focus on narrative than previous entries in the series. We want the player to form a strong bond with Tasi and intimately share her tribulations. This will not be your run-of-the-mill horror experience.
