GTA Trilogy Update: Developer Credits Disappear After Major Graphical Overhaul

Hey gamers, buckle up because we’ve got some spicy news from the Grand Theft Auto universe! 🚗💨 Rockstar has just dropped a surprise patch for the GTA Trilogy, and while some major graphical upgrades have players buzzing, there’s an unexpected twist: developer credits have been wiped clean. Let’s dive into what this means for your gaming experience!

The Big Patch Drop

This surprise patch was released on Tuesday, and wow, it’s making waves! Players are finally seeing notable improvements to those much-maligned remasters that had everyone scratching their heads in 2021. But hold onto your controllers. Not everything is sunshine and rainbows!

One of the biggest head-scratchers? The removal of Grove Street Games’ logo from the start of each game. Yep, you heard that right! 🎮 Originally, players would kick off with a splash screen featuring art from the developers along with all the necessary copyright info.

Now, let’s rewind a bit. Grove Street Games played a huge role as one of the main developers behind this Definitive Edition. But when it launched back in November 2021? Ooooh boy! Players were less than thrilled with graphics that looked like they were plucked straight from 2005. Weird character models and typos galore were just a few complaints floating around.

Fast-forward to December 2023, when mobile users got their hands on something fresh: Classic Lighting mode! 🌟 This feature revives nostalgia while respecting the original art style; talk about winning hearts all over again! The mobile version was crafted by Video Games Deluxe, made up of former Team Bondi members who worked on LA Noire. It seems this latest console update is based on their work, too!

This bold move by Rockstar to scrub Grove Street references raises eyebrows. Why remove credits for developers who put so much effort into improving our beloved classics? While we’re hyped about better graphics (who wouldn’t be?), it feels like an odd choice in terms of recognition.

So, what do you think about this update? Are you enjoying those graphical tweaks or sad about Grove Street’s disappearing act? Let me know below!
