A leaker on X has claimed Rockstar and Take-Two might require journalists and influencers to attend supervised, in-person review sessions for Grand Theft Auto 6, a move aimed at stopping early leaks ahead of the game’s planned May 26, 2026 launch. If true, it would be an unusual step for review access and a sign of how seriously publishers are treating leak risk. The report is based on posts by the leaker Detective Seeds, who said reviewers could be brought to a single location to play the game rather than receiving review codes to play at home.
GTA 6 review access may require reviewers, such as media and select content creators, come to a designated location for a select number of days in order to review the game. This will be interesting, especially if video reviews are allowed due to editors, video file locations,… pic.twitter.com/yxYbjZ178s

Rockstar and Take-Two have already delayed the release once. Keeping reviewers in a controlled environment would reduce the chance of early footage or spoilers leaking online, especially if the machines used are offline and tightly monitored. There’s a practical angle too. Bringing reviewers to a single site for complete review runs contrary to the usual model, where verified review copies land with outlets and creators and are played at home or in editorial offices. If Rockstar does pursue this path, outlets will have to weigh access against the logistical cost of travel and supervised sessions.
This remains an unconfirmed report from a leaker on social media. Rockstar or Take-Two has issued no official word about review logistics, and publication plans could still change before the game ships. Have thoughts? Leave a comment below and follow our coverage on X, Bluesky, and YouTube.
