Grounded 2 just received an update that seriously ups its stability, fixing a bunch of bugs and smoothing out some rough edges. The survival sequel, fresh off its launch last month, had players hyped after smashing its predecessor’s Steam player peak, but some folks weren’t excited by the performance hiccups and glitches. Patch 0.1.2 aims to tackle some of that, but don’t expect a miracle fix.
Obsidian Entertainment, the co-developer, thanked players for sticking around through early access and admitted that while performance improvements are underway, they don’t think this update will solve all the issues at once. Still, they’re confident about the 40%-60% boost in stability compared to the previous patch (0.1.1.3). That’s a solid jump.
Some bugs got squashed, too, like the weird one where the Red Ant Buggy would spawn as a hostile Red Soldier Ant. Yikes. Now, players won’t accidentally get ambushed by their buggy anymore. Summoning bugs also got some love, with better logic to stop them from popping up inside caves or anthills, and you can call them from farther away. Nice quality of life there.
Environmental glitches have been cleaned up, including random gaps, floating terrain, and collision problems. Visual issues like clipping also saw improvements, which should make the world feel a bit less wonky. And hey, if you’ve been grinding for acorn tops, good news, they’re now a guaranteed drop. That should help with stocking one of the game’s key resources without losing your mind.
