Gray Zone Warfare has just released Patch 0.3.1.0 on its public branch, addressing many bugs and making several gameplay improvements based on player feedback. The update focuses on fixing AI behavior, user interface glitches, weapon adjustments, and more, eager to smooth out your experience in this tactical shooter.
It’s always refreshing when a developer listens closely to early feedback and acts on it quickly. This patch includes over a hundred fixes and tweaks, which might not initially sound interesting. Still, many affect core gameplay elements — like reducing the annoying visual noise on NVGs and cutting down VRAM leaks that could cause lag during longer sessions. The Operator voice-over volume has been adjusted, which is a nice touch for those who found it too loud.
Patch 0.3.1.0 Changelog Highlights
- AI Improvements: Fixed AI navigation issues around certain doors and eliminated twitching and sliding when NPCs traverse uneven terrain.
- User Interface: Corrected problems with the death screen, weapon stats updating, and minimap behavior after respawn. The messenger UI also got clearer.
- Weapons and Gear: Fixed inventory size errors, tactical device attachments, and corrected iron sight behavior. NVGs now have less visual noise, a brighter image, and a decreased zoom level, with scoping forcing canting when scopes are attached.
- Localization: Several fixes to language display issues, including missing translations and incorrect language selections.
- World Adjustments: Fixed multiple collision problems that caused players to get stuck in various locations. Adjusted landing zones to provide more cover and fixed visual glitches like missing reflections and stretched textures.
- Health System: Corrected stamina drain issues and fixed wound display inaccuracies.
- Animations: Fixed clipping issues and unnatural movements during weapon animations, and resolved visual desyncs related to player injuries.
- Tasks & Missions: Fixed several task location and completion bugs, including squad strike missions that previously couldn’t be finished if squad members were dead.
- Custom Servers: Addressed invite code overwrites and connection errors during server restarts and shutdowns.
- Other Fixes: Reduced VRAM leaks during longer play sessions, fixed rubberbanding in water, and adjusted mortar strike announcement ranges. Also updated FidelityFX Super Resolution to 3.1.3a and fixed some amusing visual bugs like raindrops appearing black on car windshields.
There’s a lot to unpack here, and you might wonder how some of these more minor fixes change your gameplay experience. Have you ever tried running NVGs only to get blinded by excessive visual noise? Or been stuck in a spot because of invisible collisions? Those little annoyances add up, and this patch works to smooth them out.
Wow, the team tackled a massive list of issues. It’s impressive they managed to pack so many fixes into one update. Have you noticed any of these problems before? Which fix are you hoping will make the most significant difference? Let me know in the comments!
