Grand Theft Auto VI preloads begin November 10, and players will need up to 212 GB of space for the file, depending on their device. The download window opens nine days before the game’s scheduled November 19 launch.
On PS5, digital preloading starts at midnight local time on November 10. Xbox Series X|S players get one worldwide start time of 12 a.m. GMT that day, Rockstar Games says.
Digital PS5 pre-orders should begin preloading automatically when the window opens. Code-in-box versions for both consoles should be available from retailers beginning November 12, two days after digital preloading starts. Buyers can redeem their codes and begin downloading once they receive them.
Rockstar’s earlier platform guidance scheduled preloading for November 12. The game is now scheduled to unlock at midnight local time on November 19, with New Zealand reaching that time first. The Standard Edition costs $79.99.
The Earlier PS5 Download Estimate
On October 27, PlayStation Game Size, an account that tracks PlayStation Store updates, listed a 210 GB PS5 download and a November 12 preload date. Rockstar has not confirmed that PS5-specific figure. Its new 212 GB figure is an upper limit that varies by device, rather than a separate PS5 download size or installed footprint.

For scale, PC Gamer’s comparison puts Grand Theft Auto V‘s current PS5 install at 105.3 GB. An installed footprint is not directly comparable to a download size.
A Leonida Map and Poster
Rockstar will release a free digital download on November 19 containing a printable Grand Theft Auto VI cover art poster and a map of Leonida. A double-sided physical version of the poster will follow shortly after launch through the Rockstar Store for $0.99 on its own or as a free gift with any store purchase.
