While no one ever believed it could happen, stats have proven the opposite. Shortly after the release of Gears 5 and its inclusion on Xbox, the list of most played games has evolved. Fortnite, the most successful title in the Xbox One repository has finally been defeated by Gears 5 in terms numbers. Not any kind of numbers, but player base.

Fortnite’s sensation has hit a roadblock. A roadblock set by Gears 5, which puts Gearbox Software’s effort shining on the top of the most played game charts. Not only in the US, but in EU as well. Multiple sources state that Gears 5 prevails in the UK, as well as in Germany and France.

A destiny or surprise, it is not very shocking to see this outcome. Namely, a few weeks ago the Fortnite developers had muffled hearing to player’s feedback regarding multiple stances that break the game’s integrity. This has put Fortnite to a struggle as players, and famous Twitch Streamers has formed a strong resistance against the developer’s behavior.

Another fact for this occurrence could be the release of WoW Classic, which no doubt is by far the most popular MMO for years.

Nevertheless, Gears 5 has done its homework and just a day after release has managed to grasp onto the first spot on the Xbox most played games list.

A month later it’s ranked #22 and Fortnite is still #1. No one likes Gears 5.
