Gearbox has pushed the Day 30 balance update for Borderlands 4 into early next week, giving players an extra weekend to run the most powerful loadouts. The studio says the patch will include balance adjustments along with performance and stability improvements ahead of the game’s Halloween event. For more on the timing, see the Day 30 update notice.
“Hey there, Vault Hunters,” the Borderlands 4 team writes in its latest message. “Our Day 30 update, which includes balance adjustments, performance and stability improvements, and some new quality-of-life features, will be hitting early next week.” The team “took a few extra days to help ensure a great experience for you.” The post also confirms the update will arrive before the Horrors of Kairos event on October 23.
Players who enjoy pushing the boundaries of build interactions will appreciate the delay. The infamous boss-melting, bleed-stacking crit knife Vex build is still performing on live servers, and many are squeezing in runs to farm gear. The article that ranked Borderlands 4 among the best PC first-person shooters also encouraged players to experiment with new setups during the launch month.
Gearbox has been precise that it wants future bosses balanced around fair gear, not broken interactions. The studio recently confirmed the game’s first Invincible Boss will arrive as a free update in December and said it does not want that fight tuned to foul gear.
