FOUNTAINS’ Gauntlet mode is now live on Xbox, turning the game’s 10 main-story bosses into one endgame run. Players must defeat the final boss and speak with the Gauntlet keeper before they can enter, according to Xbox Wire’s October 20 rundown.
Each boss waits in a separate arena, and winning sends you straight into the next fight. Players who own the Shattered Shape expansion can choose its Gauntlet variant to face those bosses as well.
There are chances to regroup after fights 3, 6, and 9. Each rest area lets you recharge healing flasks and switch equipment before the next stretch, including the tenth and final fight against the game’s final boss.
Different bosses can call for different setups, so bringing more than one loadout gives you room to adapt at those checkpoints. Runs can be repeated, making them a good place to test builds. Consumables used during a run are returned when it ends, but they do not replenish mid-run, so use them when they can help you reach the next rest area.
