Fortnite’s Mud System Might Make a Comeback in Chapter 6 Season 4

Leaked info suggests Fortnite could bring back its Mud System with new cloaking features next season.

Fortnite fans might soon get to slide through muddy terrain again. A recent leak hints that the popular Mud System from Chapter 4, Season 3 could return in Chapter 6 Season 4, adding a stealthy twist to gameplay. This system allowed players to move faster while sliding and provided camouflage, which made sneaking around a lot more enjoyable.

The rumor originates from Loolo_WRLD on X, and is also backed by the well-known Fortnite leak source, HYPEX. They mention new Boons related to mud and cloaking (invisibility), which is why they believe mud is making a comeback.

MUD IS LIKELY COMING BACK IN S4! 👀🔥

Next season we should get new boons, related to Mud and to Cloaking (invisibility).

Bringing back mud would add a layer of stealth that hasn’t been part of Fortnite for a while. I’m curious if thermal weapons or other items that counter mud’s camouflage will return too. It could balance things out nicely. Plus, that extra mobility boost might disrupt how players move around the map. How it fits with the upcoming season’s theme is something we’ll have to wait and see.

Fortnite’s Jujutsu Kaisen Cosmetics Could See a Third Wave Soon

HYPEX also shared a leak about cosmetics arriving this season. Apparently, Wave 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen (JJK) cosmetics is expected, featuring three cel-shaded collaboration skins. There might also be new mythic items tested in Creative mode. A JJK x Fortnite Blitz Week is rumored for August, which could bring some interesting crossover events.

Meanwhile, Fantastic Four characters are set to arrive in Fortnite soon, and Epic Games is reportedly testing a 6-player squad mode, which could significantly alter team dynamics.

What do you think about the mud system possibly returning? Will it bring back some of the stealthy fun from past seasons or complicate things?
