Fortnite will give you fewer V‑Bucks per paid pack starting March 19, 2026

Epic Games announced a change to Fortnite’s paid currency that takes effect on 19 March 2026: purchased V‑Buck bundles will deliver smaller totals so players will get fewer V‑Bucks for the same real‑money price. In a blunt opening line the company wrote, “The cost of running Fortnite has gone up a lot and we’re raising prices to help pay the bills,” which is available on Fortnite’s official website.

The core change is simple, the dollar price of V‑Buck packs does not rise, but the number of V‑Bucks in each pack is reduced. That means the effective cost per V‑Buck goes up and standalone cosmetic items priced in V‑Bucks will require more real money to buy than before.

Pack Previous New
$8.99 Pack 1,000 V‑Bucks 800 V‑Bucks
$22.99 Pack 2,800 V‑Bucks 2,400 V‑Bucks
$36.99 Pack 5,000 V‑Bucks 4,500 V‑Bucks
$89.99 Pack 13,500 V‑Bucks 12,500 V‑Bucks
Exact Amount Pack ~$0.50 for 50 V‑Bucks $0.90 for 50 V‑Bucks

Epic notes the V‑Buck total in each bundle will be lower starting 19 March 2026 while the sticker price of a pack remains the same. As a result, the real‑world cost to buy specific skins or items will be higher than under the previous exchange rates.

To soften the impact on regular players, Epic is also reducing the in‑game V‑Buck price of the Battle Pass from 1,000 V‑Bucks to 800 V‑Bucks. Epic says that completing a Battle Pass will still award enough V‑Bucks through its reward tiers to buy the next Battle Pass, but there will no longer be extra V‑Bucks included in the Bonus Rewards section. Fortnite Crew subscribers will be affected too, as they will receive 200 fewer V‑Bucks from the subscription program under the new structure.
