Fortnite update 39.00 will launch Chapter 7 Pacific Break today

The Island flipped over again today as Fortnite update 39.00 for the console version went live and Chapter 7 Pacific Break arrived with a Zero Hour event rolling out now. Players who log in during the Zero Hour event get the Yuki Yubari outfit as a login reward, and the rollout includes the usual mix of map changes, new items, and a fresh Battle Pass leak courtesy of dataminers and the community.

Epic confirmed the Chapter 7 Season 1 start date in advance; for the official timing, see our prior coverage that noted the November 30 launch window and the Zero Hour event countdown on the client. Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 1 will begin on November 30, Epic confirms. Early community leaks and clips show a handful of headline changes already floating around social feeds. The chapter brings a new map layout, a redesigned Battle Pass UI, and a bold swap in the pre-game transport as the bus is replaced by what looks like a tsunami sequence.

Skexie’s X map post circulated the first cropped look at the Chapter 7 map and it matches several in-game screenshots popping up on streams and timelines. Dataminer HYPEX also shared early Battle Pass assets and gameplay clips showing new movement options and items, including a wingsuit and a self-revive item. See one of the wingsuit clips at HYPEX wingsuit gameplay.

Community-reported and datamined features appearing in early footage include:

  • PLAYBOI CARTI skin and several new collabs
  • New Battle Pass UI and art
  • The Bus replaced by a Tsunami entry sequence
  • All-new wingsuit and updated movement while knocked
  • Self-revive item and driveable Reboot Vans with auto revive
  • New sidekicks including a “PHANTOM GUFFPUP” and a Best Cat companion
  • Harry Potter crossover content planned for Winterfest including broom mythic and themed outfits
  • Double pump shotgun appears in early clips
  • Several hidden collabs and new lore loading screens

Those items come from community footage and dataminer posts rather than an official Epic changelog, so exact details and balance will be confirmed when Epic publishes full patch notes later in the day. There are also teases in the event referencing PLAYBOI CARTI and Banana Man and a handful of bundles that now include additional variants, such as Jinx’s bundle adding a new “ENEMY” variant. Two short trailers tied to the launch were shared alongside community clips:

Expect the full, official patch notes to arrive once Epic finishes server maintenance and opens their notes portal. For now players should download the client update and join the Zero Hour event if they want the login reward and a first look at Pacific Break.
