Fortnite Patch 8.40 Downtime starts tomorrow at 5 AM ET

Fortnite’s downtime of patch 8.40 starts tomorrow at 5 AM ET. This has just been announced on @FortniteGame, signifying the arrival of 8.40. The server maintenance span remains unknown. The privacy level of Epic Games did not reveal anything particular about the patch, but dataminers have already exposed a potential upset.

If you remember closely, dataminers have found a leak in the 8.30‘s week 8 challenges that indicated a return of the X-4 Stormwing planes. It appears like Fortnite France already exposed the entry of the X-4 Stormwing planes, which are bound to deploy with patch 8.40.

The leaked challenge requires a player to destroy a flying X-4 Stormwing, and the scenario will most likely occur due to their unvault. So far, Wednesday remains the maintenance day for Epic Games. Below you can find the official tweet on FortniteGame official Twitter:

Hit your mark! 🎯

Downtime for the v8.40 update starts tomorrow, April 17 at 5AM ET(0900 UTC).

The X-4 Storwming planes were allegedly the most annoying thing during Season 7. Now, the whole community is simply baffled because of their potential return with patch 8.40. It will bother both on a casual and professional level. The planes were designated as the easiest way to fast rotations, but they were considered as a high-level danger by lots of players.

I guess the Plane is joining the Hamster ball for fairer gameplay? We’ll definitely be following tomorrow’s reactions if all of this appears to be true.
