Epic Games has dramatically reduced XP rewards across multiple modes in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 1, a change players say stretches the grind to complete the Battle Pass. Community trackers picked up the new numbers almost immediately after the chapter landed, and the drops are not small. Weekly Quests now grant 134,000 XP, down from 170,000 in the last full-length season. The most eye-popping change is in Save The World Endurance, which offers 188,300 XP instead of 392,200 last season.
Other playtime rewards have been cut as well: LEGO Fortnite playtime XP fell to 1,550 from 2,250, and Creative Maps now hand out 1,750 instead of 2,300. Players first shared the compiled figures on social channels and discussion boards, and thread activity spiked within hours of Chapter 7 going live. Fortnite Chapter 7 arrived after the Zero Point live event, with Epic confirming the chapter would begin on November 30. The season’s Battle Pass currently lists an end date of March 4, 2026, which puts the season at about 95 days compared to roughly 85 days for the previous full-length season.
Players suspect the XP reductions are meant to match a longer season, but the math doesn’t line up cleanly: trimming rewards this deeply while only modestly extending the calendar still leaves a bigger grind. Epic has not posted an official reason for the lowered XP totals. Fortnite is also shipping more activities and locked tasks this season, nudging players into modes beyond the core Battle Royale loop and tying some Battle Pass content to smaller challenges and mode-specific tasks. The chapter also launched with a fresh loot pool and map changes, which we coverd in Chapter 7 added eight new weapons and a wingsuit and a map makeover, which helps explain why Epic might be steering players into varied playlists.
For now the cutbacks are live and visible on XP tables and weekly tasks, and they are already shaping how players plan their hours this season.
