Ted Timmins, the design director for Fortnite, said a “fun update” is planned for February and that Chapter 7 Season 2 is scheduled to arrive in March. The comments came as Timmins replied to a video from streamer SypherPK and addressed community requests for new content and improvements.
Timmins joined the conversation on the streamers clip and wrote, “Totally hear the comments that the community is eager for new content.” The message was posted on his account and can be read on X.
Hey folks!
So, we need to talk 🙂 Seeing some of the responses from @SypherPK’s video (thank you for sharing your constructive feedback!), thought I'd jump in to join the conversation.

He suggested the February update could include moves such as adding Self-Revives lives and bringing back Shockwaves, though he framed those items as possibilities rather than confirmed features. Timmins also reiterated that the first season of Chapter 7 leaned into a back-to-basics approach, and that the team has been listening to player feedback since the chapter launched.
Chapter 7 Season 1 introduced a new loot pool and movement changes when it began last November, including several new weapons and a wingsuit that affected early-game traversal. For background on the chapter’s initial changes, see the coverage of Chapter 7 Season 1 additions.
Timmins also announced the formation of a “multi-discipline live-ops strike team“. He described the group as a permanent addition to Fortnite’s development structure focused on improving player experience and delivering quality-of-life updates across the live game. The message included a short note about in-game events. Players who participate in this weekend’s Power Hour will receive a guaranteed Stick of Truth item, according to Timmins.
Timminss remarks set a rough timetable: a smaller update in February to add or test new content and systems, followed by the formal launch of Chapter 7 Season 2 in March. He tied those timelines to the team’s effort to respond to community feedback while keeping the core battle royale experience in mind.
