Fortnite Could Let Players Finish Old Battle Passes Like Overwatch
Overwatch's planned Unvaulted Passes will keep older passes permanently available alongside the current season's Battle Pass.
Fortnite could borrow a clever Battle Pass idea from Overwatch: letting players return to older passes and finish them whenever they want. A FortniteBR Reddit discussion points to Overwatch’s planned Unvaulted Passes as the kind of second chance Fortnite could offer players who missed rewards the first time around.
An announcement from the Overwatch Cavalry account says Unvaulted Passes will use classic-style progression, remain permanently accessible, and let players make progress alongside the current season’s Battle Pass. The feature is planned to become available during the middle of the season.
What Fortnite Could Borrow From Overwatch
Overwatch’s setup places older passes in an Unvaulted Passes gallery. One pass can be active for progression while others remain available to activate later. The example shown features the Season 1 Battle Pass as the active pass, with Season 4 also appearing in the gallery.
That approach would give Fortnite players more freedom with seasonal content. Someone could choose an unfinished older Battle Pass, work through its rewards, and still keep up with the current season instead of having to pick only one track.
Fortnite would not need to copy every detail. Permanent access to unfinished passes, a choice of which pass to progress, and continued rewards while the current season is active would be enough to make the idea feel right at home on the island.
For now, Fortnite has not been confirmed to receive the same system, so this remains a player request rather than an announced feature. Overwatch’s planned mid-season rollout is simply showing what that system could look like.
