Despite the addition of new LTM and Scoped Revolver and many other tweaks coming in 7.20, it is clear that Epic Games is focusing on developing new content or maybe slowly prepare for the next season’s transition.
There is a huge ice sphere above Polar Peak that was added today with the 7.20 update. It is considered to be one of the strangest new features as no one actually knows what kind of purpose it has.
We had the chance to get close to the Blue Ice Sphere, detecting strange behavior. It lashes out a beam from the bottom and it goes straight through it. It also produces strange sounds and the whole environment is a bit stranger than usual.
The orb will interfere player’s eyesight (animation of freezing) if they found themselves too close to it and will slower them down.
On that same spot, or more precisely said under the Ice Orb, players have discovered frozen eggs deep into Polar Peak. Some people already believe the Ice Sphere has to do something with them, and may serve as some kind of a trigger in the near future.
However, more about this we’ll find in the coming days as we’re still very early into this release.
