Football Manager 26 landed this week after a year-long delay following the cancellation of FM25, and it has been met with a swift, hostile reception on Steam. Within 24 hours, the game’s player reviews sat at roughly 23% positive, a Mostly Negative rating that signals players feel the launch was badly mishandled.

There is an odd split in sentiment. Several reviewers praise the new match engine, saying it shows promise and a more precise visual fidelity during matches.
