Sim Update 4 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 moves forward with a new public beta pre-release, build 1.6.7.0, issued on September 18, 2025. Players in the beta can read the release notes and follow instructions to join the beta for PC and Xbox.
Beta participants should vote in the forum surveys. Bug reports and detailed feedback remain critical while the team polishes SU4; a separate web survey collects input on Career Mode text and voiceover quality, with extra attention to non-English languages. Earlier this week, a temporary outage affected live weather in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. Service has been restored, and live weather is functioning normally after Microsoft Teams addressed the fault.
Marketplace update added 53 new and 35 updated products to Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020), while Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 saw 46 new and 14 updated entries. Backlog totals remain substantial with 645 items queued for MSFS 2020 testing across aircraft, missions, scenery, liveries, airports, and other content.
Community highlights included a Fly-In over Chile for Fiestas Patrias, departing Santiago and flying north to Valparaiso, Pichidangui, and La Florida; full event details are available on the forums. Next development blog update is scheduled for September 25, 2025. Discuss in the comments and follow on X and Bluesky.
