Square Enix just dropped a big update for Final Fantasy 14, patch 7.3, known as The Promise of Tomorrow, which said that wraps up the Dawntrail storyline and throws in fresh raids, a new trial, and other additions. If you’re playing, you’ll want to check this out.
Here’s the deal: the main scenario quests continue with Targeted Tragedy, requiring level 100 in Disciple of War or Magic and starting at The Backroom (X:6.0 Y:6.3) with NPC Shale. After finishing that, several more quests follow, though details are still under wraps for some. It’s kinda mysterious, right?
Alongside the main quests, the Chronicles of a New Era series expands with the Echoes of Vana’diel storyline. The quest Dreams of Paradise kicks off at Tuliyollal (X:16.2 Y:3.9) with a Landsguard messenger, again requiring level 100. More quests in this chain remain unnamed, so players will have to go into it to uncover them.
Tutorials now pop up during quests with special objectives like escorting NPCs or transporting items. This should help clarify what’s needed without confusion. These tutorial windows show up the first time you encounter such objectives, but can be reviewed anytime via the Duty List or chat log, nice touch, especially for players who might get stuck.
FATEs get new items to trade using bicolor gemstones from the Gemstone Trader NPC Kajeel Ja in Tuliyollal. And for treasure hunters, Gargantuaskin Treasure Maps arrive, exclusive to Living Memory content. These maps unlock access to Vault Oneiron, though their rewards match those from Br’aaxskin maps. Meanwhile, rewards for Loboskin and Br’aaxskin maps have been tweaked.
