Hamish posted to Fellowship’s Steam news hub to announce that the developer will roll out the first iteration of Eternal Matchmaking very soon, calling it a quality of life feature designed to change how players find each other in the game. The announcement frames Eternal Matchmaking as an initial step rather than a finished system, calling it “the first iteration of the Eternal Matchmaking system,” and the post includes a short developer video walk-through that highlights the team’s goals for the feature.
The embedded clip is available below.
Fellowship has been active on several fronts lately, the game recently ran a 20% off sale on Steam which is still ongoing, and the team scheduled a maintenance window to deploy major fixes and events in late October as described in the October 30 maintenance post. Ongoing server updates were also tracked in the October 22 patch notes, which targeted queue and stability issues that could affect how matchmaking performs at scale.
Hamish’s message leaves room for future detail, the developer said this is an initial release and more refinements will follow after the first players start using it. Fellowship players who pay attention to the news hub or watch the video should expect the system to arrive imminently and to be iterated over time based on how it performs in real matches.
